All cards are declining!!

Every single card we try to run declines?! Doesn’t matter what bank…they all decline! Credit card? Decline! Debit cards decline! I have tried calling but it ALWAYS says the option to call isn’t available!! I simply cannot run a business this way! Complete bs!

Are you actually getting a message that the card(s) have been declined?  Asking since since last week I run any credit card and the first attempt beeps, like it was processed.  But stays on the same screen, my only option is to hit the X to cancel the sale and then press charge again.  Then the sale goes through on the 2nd attempt.  This is why i am asking if the Screen does show a Red Box saying Declined.

Oh clear as day it says CARD DECLINED…every single card

Lets try Squares normal help;

Is your Hardware and the Square POS up to date?

Is your hardware connected to the internet, not just connected to your local WiFi?

What system are you using?  Stand, Register, Terminal, Iphone, ipad, Cell phone?

 

 

If your system is not connected to the internet, and you have it setup to not process a Credit Card when the Internet is down, it could say Declined.  

 

Check to see if this is the case.  See if you have Offline mode set to not process if No internet.  You want this set this way so Square checks to make sure customers have funds in their Debit cards or is not over their limit with a credit card that would make the Card issuer decline the transaction.  If you take CC transactions with no internet you are at risk of not getting the money from the transaction.

I do not recommend taking Credit Cards in Offline mode but this is just to see if your Square system may think your Offline and is declining all transactions because it has no internet connection.

 

 

If everything still looks like your On the internet and your not running in Decline when in offline, my last 2 ideas are to reboot the devices, and if that does not work call Square Support.   They can look into your account more than we can on the forum since we are just Square users mostly too.

 

I setup my WiFi so it has a Backup of connecting to cell towers to process CC's if the internet goes down.
