NEW! Printing labels for drink orders

What is the best way to print order tickets using labels?  I'm setting up Square in a small coffee cafe at my church and would like to print drink orders tickets on a label to stick to the cups.  I see I can use the Star printer with Max stick paper... but it seems very expensive.  Any suggestions?

Hey y'all ! The wait is over... Single Item Printing is now LIVE in the Point of Sale app. 🥳️ 

 

Now you can print individual tickets for drink and/or food orders and their modifiers.  

 

Take it a step further with printing tickets on sticky labels! My friend @AprilMarie gives you the run down about label printer and sticky labels support for iOS devices here, and @Helen shares the details for label printer and sticky labels support for Android devices and Square Register here.

Hmm, I'd try some app troubleshooting first, like reinstalling the POS app on your device (as long as you don't have any offline payments pending), then re-create the printer station to see if Print Single Item Per Ticket appears.

@JustinC hm.. i tried reinstall pos app,restart ipad,turn off printer,restart stand. still doesnt show single print function.=[

@JustinC O have an Epson Tm-m10 printer. It is on the compatibility list but I have no option for single ticket printing. Can you advise?

Hey y'all @ThinkCoffee @bruswain @xogonjai -- back with an UPDATE on Single Item Printing. 

 

After talking to the Product Team, they did need to pause this feature to test the sticky label component further 😖.  However, If you are interested testing this feature out using a compatible receipt printer, please send me a DM and I'll pass your account information to the product team.

Can you tell me if the feature to print a single item per order has been added.  I don't need to print to sticky labels but do need the ability to print one single item per order ticket for the staff to put with the customer order.

I’d love to be included on a product testing for sticker drink labels for my chocolate and coffee shop!! It would be a big game changer for us! Right now we’re just printing out another receipt and highlighting the drinks 🙄 this is my ONLY complaint with using square.

There is a way to print single items per ticket on the same order.

 

Enable open tickets

Ring in item

Hit save and add customer name

----item will go to ticket printer

Ring in next item hit save and select customer name

Item will be appended to that ticket and new single item will print to ticket printer

At end of order hit tickets bring up customer ticket and charge out like normal

 

Each time you save a new item to an existing ticket the system will kick the new item with the same name to the ticket printer.  We use this for large orders to break them up for the kitchen.  It stinks to read a foot long ticket.  I don't see why this would not work for drink orders and coffee etc.

I need to print up labels for coffee and tea drinks.   What type of label printer should I buy? We have an android POS system.   We have a Dymo label writer 450 but it doesn’t work.  When I try to set it up the system can not see it.

You would need to sign up and pay for Fresh KDS https://beta.freshkds.com

Once you have KDS then you would integrated with Square. I pay $30 for Fresh KDS subscription per month. You also need a Zebra Zd410 Bluetooth and any iPad or mid end Android tablet (Samsung Tab A). A big initial investment but definitely help you and employees alot
