Equipment for restaurant

New to this group so hello! I currently use the pos system at my cafe which is mostly takeout. I'm in the process of adding a second location which is mostly sit down. Are there any members here that use iPads at the tables to take orders and, if so, does it work well for you? I'm assuming that using the mobile payment terminal is the best way to go as well. Thanks

Hi @BiggerMama ! Welcome to the community and congrats on your second location!!

I personally would be very wary of handing servers iPads. First is the obvious cost factor. With technology in the dining room it’s not an if it gets broken it’s a when. Knowing the cost of iPads, even used ones, I wouldn’t trust my staff. Maybe if I could find some used iPad minis and rugged used cases, but still ugh. Second, I’d be concerned about a customer deciding that they didn’t like their service or food and decide that an iPad is a good way to make up for it. There also is the size issue: no iPad is going to fit into a servers apron pocket nicely.

The terminals are relatively easy on the wallet and can run both the regular point of sale and Restaurants so I would go that route.
