We would love to see better inventory management in the Restaurants app. We looked over the inventory management in the retail app and it is much stronger. For example, we buy in products such as canned and bottled drinks. It is currently a pain in the ass to update items individually and therefore the Purchase Order functionality and receipt (ie quick receipt of multiple line items) plus stock forecasting would really improve our ordering.
Also, to have some functionality to deal with Ingredients for Menu Items would be a big help and put Square on a par with other similar systems that have this functionality. Managing inventory in a restaurant/bar is essential to a profitable business.
