Can't use up gift cards completely when using an iPad and a Terminal for taking payment?!
Hi there,
I've just realised that it's not possible to take gift card payments where the gift card has insufficient funds to complete the purchase when you have your POS (in my case an iPad) connected to a Terminal for taking payment. In other words; it's not possible to 'Split tender' when using an iPad and a Terminal.

-it reads:
"Note: Split tender functionality is not yet supported on Square Terminal connected with Square Point of Sale, Square Retail POS, and Square for Restaurants POS apps. To accept split tender payments, connect a Square Reader to your POS device to complete the payment."
We've actually been experiencing this problem quite a bit as we sell a fair amount of gift cards and it seems like a huge flaw that our customers cannot use their gift cards properly when we're using a set up that's otherwise supported and suggested by Square.
I really hope to see this improved soon as otherwise we're going to find another solution for selling gift cards.

Hi @skafte , thanks for filing this request.
I can definitely understand how this would be limiting for your business and other sellers who have a similar set up. I haven't heard anything about the availability of Split Tender when the Terminal is connected to the POS, but I'll be sure to let you know if I do.
