I run a business where I sell products, these can be on their own, or alongside a service.
I'd love to see Square inplement the following, because I've used so many systems from LatePoint, SumUp, PayPal, Wordpress, Bookly, GetBooked, WooCommerce etc, and nothing works the way I need, and I'm sure it could be a great help to many others too. The more people it helps, the more money Square makes right? (and so do its customers).
1: Appointments - Allow us to ask the customer to put in a ZIP/Post code, and then decide if we offer any/all services in their location, based on the distance from our business location (if we set that location to Mobile of course)
2: Appointments - Allow us to book ITEMS into an apppointment from the customer side. They would have to select a service, then an item to add i'm sure, but this is essential. I can't provide my service without also supplying a product.
3: Online - (if the above two are allowed, then this isn't so bad.) Allow modifier rules - specifically based on location. This is a workaround for the above. This means that if we add a modifier to offer the "service" for an additional fee onto the item, that we can only show the options/entire modifier to the right people; those local to us (again, a MOBILE business issue, not an issue for fixed locations where customers come to you) Think WooCommerce style rules.
4: Online - Modifier rules, sort of. Add a new section, to "add a service" to an item! This way we could prompt a user to just go straight to the appointments booking system, and then they (if number 1 is implemented) can just add the item there.
The idea here is that customers are easily confused - and we need to steer them at every opportunity to the right flow.
I'm loving the experience for the customer when booking an appointment, but we need more flexibility for a mobile business. I have built my business on Square from the ground up at this point, and I'm reluctant to move away, but I will have to if it can't do what we need to grow.
We want to sell online, sell at a mobile location, bring products to customers homes, and provide service to all these customers when we do, we are looking for square to let us blur the lines between "we sell things" and "we do things" and make things more flexible for everyone. It doesn't need to be complicated - the options here could even be "advanced mode" in appointments.
