We recently announced the Square TikTok integration, which enables you to reach new customers on one of the fastest growing social media platforms! With that, we were thrilled to host the team that built this feature for a Q&A in our forums on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Read on to see what sellers had to say so far and keep watch for a summary post from our product managers.✨

Hi everyone, wanted to share an important update:
Due to recent developments on TikTok, from Tuesday, 11th October 2022, we are no longer accepting new sellers into our Square x TikTok integration.

For now, TikTok has decided not to accept new merchants to Storefronts. Square is always testing and experimenting with commerce channels that enable our sellers to share their products, and we look forward to continuing to offer more ways for you to reach and engage buyers.

Hi @DBask65, while your products are posted for sale on TikTok, purchases are actually completed on your Square Online website - as @ForeverAnnoyed mentioned. You will not be sharing any payment information with TikTok via this integration. I already have a Business account, but how do I set up Shopping tabs, and product links? I have not seen the option come up in Links. Helppp?!

I have my business account setup, have the square integration set up and everything connected.  But is there a way instead of me having to film a bunch of tiktoks for each item and instead use the templates function to automatically publish videos for all of my products with the media I already have loaded into square?

Hi @NerdOfTheRings. Video content that performs best on TikTok follows a similar format and tone to the other videos you see on TikTok. Viewers tend to swipe past videos that look like ads. Because of that, we recommend shooting short videos of a walk through your store, unboxing a product, making a product, doing a tutorial, or doing something clever or funny to capitalize on a trend. This integration does not offer the ability to templatize videos but it does sync your product catalog to TikTok so that when you make an unboxing or product creation video you can tag the product and a viewer can click right through to your Square Online store without needing to navigate to a link in bio.

In spite of TikTok USA's insistence to the contrary, I am highly suspicious that user's data and no telling what else could be accessed by their Chinese owners. I want to know that my Square account and anything about me is not available to TikTok unless I go link up to them through Square. 

Even then, I'm not happy about more American companies associating with TikTok. RJ Mirabal

Xenophobia is not a legitimate reason to bash a platform with global influence and millions of users from all walks of life.  Your personal, questionable, concerns with China are irrelevant to this discussion.

Data is only shared between Square and TikTok if you install the integration.

I have a very fast growing tik tok business account I’ve been using. I have weekly drops. How do l link items? Or do a countdown? Or shopping tabs?

Hi @Saucyvault - Congrats on your growing account, and excited to help you grow your sales even more through this integration! To use this integration, you can start by following the steps in our help article here. After you’re approved by TikTok for TikTok Shopping, you’ll see your Square items synced to TikTok, and can follow steps 4-6 here to activate a Shopping tab on your profile and include product links in TikTok videos — that way when your TikTok goes viral, your sales will too! All product links point followers back to your Square Online site where the purchase takes place, so you retain the customer relationship. Can’t wait to see you succeed with selling on TikTok!

It doesn't seem like TIKTOK is very invested in our integrated shops - as TIKTOK views on my account immediately decreased when I converted to business and attached my Square store inventory/pixel to my TikTok.  Businesses on social media seem to be getting less attention and downgraded more often.  What are Square and TikTok doing as partners to BENEFIT their small business owners in terms of SEO and exposure longterm to make this partnership viable and drive sales to our online stores?
