Tactic Talk: Social Media – After Event Discussion

Hey everybody!

A few weeks ago we held our Tactic Talk: Social Media event, where business owners asked and shared about how to best use social media to position & market their businesses.

You can view the event recording to hear some great tips from @DinaLRosenberg, @indianathomas, @MSotherden , @Bakers1 , and more.

We wanted to bring the conversation back here to the Community, and we'd love to hear your thoughts here, whether or not you were able to attend the event.

Do you have any other questions about social media, or your own best practices to share?

Reply down below to keep the conversation going!

    • What questions do you have about utilizing social media in your business?
  • Share:

    • How do you build community on social media?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Pesso

So excited to continue the conversation! I attended the event live, and loved what everyone had to say!

In terms of what I can offer -- I volunteer for a dog rescue on the side, and most of our social media efforts are built around specific fundraising campaigns. We've found that taking advantage of broader hashtags or larger seasonal fundraising efforts (both locally and nationally), has far greater results. In other words, tapping into an audience greater than ourselves (i.e. beyond our current following) has proven advantageous. For example, when we connect a fundraising effort to #givingTuesday or #ColoradoGives -- we typically see 10x increase in donations (excluding matched donation revenue, which is a whole different ball game 😛).

🤔 Definitely curious if folks across industries have "go to" seasonal/industry/local campaigns, along the same lines of #givingTuesday, that you've found helpful to maximize the impact of your social reach and results.

Ohh, excited to hear what folks have found to be the most effective strategy when it comes to building a community (and following) on social media!
