[CA] Dashboard iOS App: Ask us anything about the updates to sales reporting!

 

Hello Seller Community!

 

We know that real-time, on-the-go access to your business’ performance is crucial for your business. We want your input as the Seller Experience team prioritizes improvements to the Square Dashboard iOS App in 2023!

 

I'm excited to introduce the Dashboard product manager, @JenLax_SqPM, and product designer, @cameron_s. Together, they have nearly five years of experience building products at Square. They're eager to hear your questions, feedback, and get a clear understanding of how you're using Square reporting tools today. 

 

They will be in this thread on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 to take a deep dive into your questions and address your feedback about reporting on the Square Dashboard App.

 

Not sure what to ask? Here are some example questions: 

  • How do I set up the Square Dashboard App for multiple business locations and/or multiple employees?
  • How can I view open checks in the reporting data?
  • If I could add "________" to the Square Dashboard App, that would improve my day-to-day business operations.

 

In addition, the team has offered to showcase a sneak peak of tweaks they plan to make after recent feedback on the homepage screens. Let us know if you have thoughts or questions!

First, thank you for listening when we gave feedback on the updated version last month I was definitely freaking out as I use this app multiple times a day especially if I'm away from the store. Currently, since the new version rolled back, I am not able to see last year sales, I can scroll through and see 2021, and this ytd, but last year is giving me "Unable to Load Data" message.IMG_2BD121054FFD-1.jpeg

Something I would love would be to see is the previous years total sales for that date in addition to the "by the minute" when comparing to last year. It would be great to open the app in the morning and see what kind of numbers we're up against for the day without having to select a custom date.

52 weeks comparison is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE when comparing retail sales, I need to know what I did last year same day of week.

Will the new version have the ability to click on the skyline graph bars and interact with them, like the reports section of our POS? I would also like to select a custom date range and compare it to 52 weeks, it would be great for comparing weekend or multi-day event sales/traffic.

Thanks for the feature request @repopgifts, we’ll take a look at adding the prior period’s totals. With this release we’re keeping the 52 weeks comparisons, and we’re excited to let you know that we’re adding the 52 weeks and previous year comparisons to custom date ranges as well! Interacting with the graphs to see additional details will be coming soon after this release.

The only inconvenience I ever have to deal with when two people split a transaction but one person want to pay for a separate item just on their share. That’s not possible so you have to do another transaction, just for that item. For example 2 people want to split a sandwich but one person wants to buy a drink just on their share. It’s easy to do the split payment for the sandwich part but you can’t add the drink to one part of the split payment.

What would help a lot would be to add tip as an option to cash transactions. I have to record these as an item so I have to add them together with the credit tips at the end of the year which is tedious. I would like to be able to just copy/paste what's in dashboard but I can't because of this

Hi there,

 

our fiscal year ends November 30th.  In the square dashboard when we select the current or previous year, the default seems to be for a December 31st year end. Is it possible to change this in the default settings somewhere and if not, can this option be added?

 

as a work around, I can run a custom report, but that takes more time and renders the current/previous year filters useless to me.

Hi there!

 

It would really be amazing if i could have different calendars for different services so that I can specify which service can be booked on a specific day and time. Hopefully this makes sense but some services I offer, I’d like to be able to only offer them on a specific day and time of the week. Also, more design options in website editing, as the current options are very limited. Besides that, I really love Square, and I can’t wait to see what else will be added to it. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to give our feedbacks!

We really need an option to have a second commision option on sales

Ex Commision 1 for person A

Commision 2 for person B

As well as the ability to set distinct rates of commision for both

Could you add in an option for Sales Comparisons to be done by a specific date? For example if you held the same event the year previous but in a different month, it’s impossible to view a real time comparison of how you are doing vs the last time you held the event. The ability to not just compare by 1yr, 1wk, 1 day etc and instead compare by custom date would be huge.

A bit late here but I often have wholesale invoices and direct to consumers sales at events on the same day mixed into my stats and would love an easy way to split that and remove confusion. I also find I have issues with getting my added tax to work on some items for some reason. It is also a problem when I sell in 2 different Canadian provinces on the same day and need to charge 2 different taxes... I'd say that is where most of my issues are.
