How to Accept Payments on a Smartphone/Tablet

■ Accepting Payment With Square Chip Card Reader (most secure and simplest) ■

Getting Set Up

Before you get started, make sure you’ve downloaded the Square Point of Sale app on your smartphone or tablet. Open the Square Point of Sale app and sign in. Plug in your Square Chip Card Reader.

Enter Sale Amount

Either enter the amount to be charged on the keypad, or select specific items from your item library.

Complete the sale

Confirm the total amount and then dip an IC card or swipe a magstripe card. On the signature screen, get your customer’s signature and on the next screen, choose to receive an email or text message receipt on the following screen.

Getting Set Up

Enter Sale Amount

Either enter the amount to be charged on the keypad, or select specific items from your item library.

Entering Credit Card Information

Confirm the total amount and tap [Charge]. Select “Manual Credit Card Entry” and enter the card information (card number, expiration date, security code). Then tap [Charge].
