Can customers add a gift card to their cart when shopping for other items in the online store?

Can customers add a gift card to their cart when shopping for other items in the online store? Or does it have to be a separate purchase?

We would like for our customers to be able to easily choose a gift card as an add-on item while shopping for other products.

At this time, there isn't a way to add a gift card as an item on your site to be added to the cart and checked out with other items. 

It's separate for now, however that's a great feature request that I'll pass along to our Product Teams.

We'd like to have this functionality, too. I had someone ask me how they can order a hat with a gift certificate in it (real gift certificate or printed email or something) to have it sent to their brother as a gift.
