1 Online Stores - 4 locations - How to differentiate incoming orders from different locations?

Hi, I have 1 online store, just started a month ago, set up with 1 location.

But I have 4 locations and I'm ready to add the other 3 locations to the same online store.

With 1 location, the incoming orders are going to that 1 location Square ipad app.

1) But with 4 locations, how are the incoming orders will be like?  How should we set up so that the incoming orders for each different location will automatically showing up on the respective location's Square ipad app?  For example, an order (order #1234567) was placed for Location-A pickup, that order number 1234567 will only appear on the Square ipad pos at Location-A?

2) Will the online orders sales will belong to its respective location sales?  For example, an order was placed for location-B pickup.  Does that order sales will only be included on our location-B daily sales report?

There is no illustration or discussion on these orders flow with multiple locations...since our online store is already live, we cannot really try on the live website...please advise.  Thank you!

Hi there JKW,

I had a lot of the same questions when I started putting the online store together 2 months ago. We have 3 locations, all offering pickup/delivery and have both identical and different inventory at each shop.

To answer some of your questions.

Yes, as you suggested, each location will receive orders only that were placed for that specific location. Your employees will see it under the orders screen as they currently do. One location has no way to see the other's orders

Also, each location's sales will report to the specific location. Even though the account may have an initial location, the sales/orders route directly to the correct location.

There is definitely a bunch more I wish I knew when setting things up, but here are a couple tips.

-If you have items that are only going to be available at one location, make sure they are not enabled in the incorrect locations. That prevents someone ordering Item X from Shop A when they don't normally carry it. Weebly will filter the locations based on what you enter in Square.

-When a customer chooses the delivery option, the address they put it will send them to the closest store geographically first. The customer can then switch locations if they need to.

-The order confirmation emails that you receive will have the location information at the top of the email.

Take a look at our online store and you can see how the behavior works. We have 3 relatively close stores. www.carryyourcraft.com

Hope that helps! Good luck!

@TBHospitalityNY  thank you for your detailed explanation and tips, that really helped!  And thanks for sharing your website, neat and nice:)  I'm sure I'll have more questions as I start setting up.  But from what I have been reading in the community, there are still many limitations to the online store...since now location share the same inventory, there is no way I can out of stock Item#1 from only Location-A, but not Location-B...

We are a bakery selling small baked goods, it's quite fast paced.  I wish they have an ON-APP access to inventory and easy to turn on-off availability by staffs.  Not all staffs able to go online and mess with our inventory setup, and you don't want them to mess with it....if there is an ON-OFF button to turn on/off product availability within the APP, it would be awesome!!!  Think of it like Ubereats/Doordash.  Staffs can easily manage availability (sold out for the day) within the app.  No need managers or computer know-how personnel to do this job (going into items library and change stock to 0)...

Thank you!!
