The Appointments offering is seriously lacking.

Square's appointments offering was, when it was announced, a hopeful step towards making some businesses more able to move to a more complete Square solution for offering services, instead of just selling products.

 

Unfortunately, that promising change has amounted to pretty much nothing usable for any company who needs to promote their own brand instead of Square's. The atrocious lack of any sort of customization or branding for the Appointments Site, or any of the embed code, and the complete disinterest of developing even the most rudimentary of API for Appointments is staggering given the overall thoughtful approach Square took to other aspects of thier offering, including a more full featured paymetns API to take a step into eCommerce. Giving the ability to integrate Appointments in even a tenth of the way that you have payments would be a tremendous step forward. Instead, we are left with Square's brand, bad font choices, colors, and design.

 

At least give us the ability to inject custom CSS to change fonts and colors on booking tools. Having a disconnected system that either looks completely out of place or forces clients/users off to a third-party domain/site for completing booking is terrible for conversions, and is hurting the business of every customer who is trying to integrate Appointments into an online strategy.

 

Simply integrating with limited Google and Instagram channels is woefully insufficient.
