Appointment App needs love too!

It seems the Appointments get left out in all the updates square. I recommend Square Appointments to all my LMT friends, and even started a Physical Therapist using it. HOWEVER we all agree on 2 updates that would be huge. 

1) back to back booking option: instead of the “slightly busy” option if we had an option where it only shows appointments available right before OR right after an already booked appointment to minimize weird gaps in the day

 

2) services: ability to change the color for different services. I always look at my schedule on the weekly view. With everything the same color, different services do not stand out.  Example: a majority of my appointments are deep tissue, but if I could do my hot stone in a different color, and my prenatal in yet another color it would differentiate them for quick viewing on my books!

Detailed feedback like this is always appreciated when our various product teams are working on building out new features and products. Our Appointments team has been very hard at work this past year! I know how difficult it can be to keep up with all of the new features we implement though, cause I have a tough time keeping up with all the great changes myself 😵💫
 

This past year, some of the Appointments team's huge pushes were introducing the Android version of the Appointments app in Canada + AU, integrating Appointments into the Square Register, and creating an integration with Square Appointments and Contracts to aid in social distancing and safety efforts.

We also saw some long-standing feature requests come to life this year: resource management was a huge ask, along with processing time, and tipping on prepaid appointments. Some honorable mentions to the design refresh of your booking site, QR codes for the booking site, and recurring appointments capabilities on Android devices.

 

Hm, your first suggestion sounds like processing time - have you read into how this feature works yet? I think it may be exactly what you're looking for! As for your second suggestion, I can confirm that color-coding capabilities for Appointments is a popular feature request. Feel free to subscribe to this thread, as we will definitely drop an update there as soon as we have one to share.

We really need to be able to change the colors of each item because I run a dog grooming business and I have 3 main categories: bath, deluxe, and haircut. Its hard to differentiate what's what unless I go in to each appointment. I would like to be able to have each category in their own color ex: bath (blue) deluxe (purple) and haircut (pink). That way I can look at the week and see if I can squeeze someone in really quick instead of going into each appointment to see how many dogs there are or if each is either a haircut, bath, or deluxe.
