Hey everyone!

As Hurricane Helene continues to impact many regions, we at Square want to extend our thoughts and support to those affected. We understand how challenging it can be for businesses to recover during times of crisis, and we’re committed to providing resources and guidance to help you get back on your feet. Whether you’re dealing with disrupted operations or simply looking for ways to manage your business amidst the storm, we’ve gathered key tools and options available through Square to assist you during this difficult time. Below are some ways we can help as you begin to recover and rebuild:

  • Temporarily pause your subscriptions: If you need time to reopen your business, you can temporarily pause some of your software subscriptions like Square Marketing or Square Loyalty until your business is operational. Learn more here.

  • Pause active Square Marketing campaigns: You can easily cancel any automated marketing campaigns and blast campaigns with a coupon. Learn more here.

  • Square Loans minimum payment delay and hold rate relief: If you have an active loan and anticipate needing additional time to make your next minimum payment, we may be able to extend your due date by up to 30 days. For businesses that are still operating but need some additional support, we also may be able to temporarily reduce the repayment rate that is applied to your business's daily card sales through Square for the repayment of your Square Loan by up to 31 days. To take advantage of either of these offers, please reach out to the Square Loans team.

  • Offline Payments: If you’re able to operate your business safely but without a stable internet connection, you may still be able to take payments by enabling Offline Payments.1 You can enable Offline Payments in your Square app settings.2 Offline payments are processed automatically when your device regains connectivity, but please note that offline payments will expire if not processed within 24 hours. More information on how to properly use Offline Payments can be found here.

  • Contact Square Support for additional help: If you have additional questions or need support as your business gets back online, please reach out to us here

Many of you may have received an email with the above information as we try to reach as many impacted sellers as possible.

Please take care and stay safe 💘

Square says it offers hurricane relief but will not waive its refund fee for cancelled events. I had a retreat scheduled in Black Mountain, NC this month that had to be cancelled because the retreat center was severely damaged. I have to refund approximately $17,000 in registration fees. On top of that Square is going to charge me approx. $500 to make the refunds. Square talks a good game but does not really come through when you need them. Does anyone know a similar company that doesn't charge for refunds?
