Recruitment is tough at the minute we are finding however here are a few things we have found have worked in the past.
Indeed Ads
Social Media Ads
Getting existing staff and clients to share.
Offering a reward for someone finding someone who passes their probation
Regular social media posts - even videos and reel showing how fun it is working with you.
Promoting staff events & looking after staff - this speaks a thousand words!

We used to struggle until I added an expression of interest page on our website as a permanent fixutre. Turned out there was always the right people out there, they just werent necessarily actively seeking on the specific Artist with minimum of X years experience, a good 35%+ will be males over 50 years old, with very limited English but 'very fast learners' bless them.
The feature I like about Indeed is how you can search their database of candidates whom have their resume on file - you can search by keyword which is useful if looking for staff with a particular work experience. Their search tool extends to the job history of everyone on the database ie details of previous employers so you can get very specific and you're able to then reach out to them through Indeed if theyre a match.

I recently created a hiring booklet. I created the design on Canva and just sent it off to print. Im adding this to my proactive recruiting. I hope to pass them out when I visit beauty schools.

It sure is a challenge to hire. I feel sometimes you just have to ride the wave ... the right person will come about.
We are consistent on social media and indeed mainly. We also pop it at the bottom of our receipts incase a client knows of someone! A poster in the front of your shop would also help!! I have seen companies do giveaways where clients have to share the post on their socials and one person wins a voucher or something...not yet tried myself but the power of social media is strong!
Hope that helps.
Also with indeed, make sure you delete and re post the ad every 4-6 weeks else you get booted to the bottom of the list so this really helps.
