Great question - I am not always in the salon anymore, so getting the assistant manager involved gives her  buy-in to the new hires and boosts morale. We post on social media and email with our qualifications and do pretty well with applications. For morale, we buy starbucks weekly, help staff clean during busy shifts, and accommodate all time off requests. Also, they are assigned projects to work on during down time and are custom to what they are great at and enjoy doing (social media, email, communications, etc).
