Square Go Live Demo Recording and Recap ๐ฝโ
Hi Seller Community,
On March 21, we were joined by over 60 Square sellers for the Square Go* live demo and Q&A. Thank you all so much for attending and for your participation. We received great questions during the event and hope our responses were helpful.
For anyone who could not attend (or who wants to watch again) watch the event recording ๐ฝ
*Square Go is currently limited to Beauty and Personal Care sellers in Charlotte, Denver, Hollywood (FL), New Orleans, Kansas City, and St. Louis but we're continuing to roll out across the U.S., so please join us to learn more.

If we sell items and services, will buyers be able to book/order both in the Square Go app or strictly services?

Iโd like to request โhair extensionsโ have its own category like โhair cutโ โhair styleโ โtattooโ, etc. Right now itโs under โhair styleโ and I feel it needs its own category.
Itโs the bulk of my business and I hate that itโs not represented in Square Go. I was so looking forward to seeing this app go live in my area and now that it is, I feel like itโs not going to help my business.

Will we (sellers) be able to set up specific times we're available to take appointments? Ex: time slots at 9am, 12pm, & 4pm. OR will our booking availability remain as is in the square appointments platform according to how we set it?

It builds off your Appointments app. So whatever you have setup there for services, online booking, etc, will be the same in the Go app.

Hi.
I'm a Massage Therapist that uses an Android Phone. I think I read somewhere that currently the Square Go App is only available for iphone / Apple users??
Also...the App was recently fielded in my area/community. I began the process of "registering" my business presence on Square Go, and when I got to the "services" section. it appears that the App "advertises" ALL of my "service" options, even the ones I currently have set to "invisible" on the Square Scheduling App.
Is there a fix for this? Some of the "services" I have multiple options and some of those options aren't available without prior visitations to my business. Additionally, some of those services are "work-arounds" for when I use Square as my cash register for ALL transactions (not just the Credit Transactions.)
Example, I have a service on my primary Square App called "Tip" which is used when customers pay via cash or check. This helps me with accounting purposes. I don't want "Tip" to be a "bookable service" on the Appointments App or the Square Go app.

Hey Kevin,
You are correct that Square Go is only currently available for your clients to use on iPhone. Don't worry! All of the management tools you need to setup your profile live in the Square Dashboard, so you won't need the app yourself.
Regarding services that you've hidden from online booking, you helped us catch a bug! We were incorrectly showing all services in your dashboard even though the Square Go app only shows services that are currently turned on for online booking. We are working on a quick fix. Thanks for the feedback!

Where - exactly - using the Dashboard, would I go to find the Square Go Profile Manager??
I don't see it anywhere...

You can go directly to the Square Go profile manger here: https://squareup.com/dashboard/appointments/booking_channels/marketplace
You can navigate from dashboard by tapping "Appointments", then "Online Booking", then "Channels", then "Square Go App Listing".

Is this only available to businesses set up with Square Online using Appointments?
So when customers are searching for a type of business on the Square Go app, their choices are limited only to those businesses set up through Square in their area?
If yes, it might be difficult to convince them the app is worth downloading for a small amount of choices (assuming many are using other appointment booking platforms available)?
Also, any plans to incorporate one-stop bookings that initiate from outside Square, from other services and Social Media platforms (text, email, FB, Insta, Google Profile, etc.) making it a truly one stop place for all of your booking needs?

Hi @femmeinink , sorry for the delay here. You are correctโthis is currently only available to beauty & personal care businesses set up with Square Appointments who have online booking enabled. So, customers' choices are limited only to those businesses.
As of now, we are focused on developing features that help new clients find Square businesses and help existing clients manage and rebook their appointments. We are finding that clients are searching by specific service like "hair extensions" directly into the search bar and narrowing down by subcategory as well once they find themselves within "hair style." That said, we hear you that this is a need and will be sure to relay this to the team. Thanks!

Iโve encountered a flaw with the app. I was testing out a booking flow, using myself as a client. Booked online but then I declined the appointment. It was not shown on my schedule but I later received a SquareGo app notification that my appointment was about to start! This would have been right before the requested appointment time, but since it was declined, it never was booked. This would be super confusing to a client had they been declined an appointment, only to get a notification that they had one!
