orders not processing after paypal pages
Hi,
I've been informed that upon attempting to place an order, the payment process will get as far as going to the Paypal pages but once details are filled in it returns to the beginning of the shipping cart process.
Please help as this is costing me money! I cant find any issues with either the paypal settings or the website settings.
Edit: my website is - www.barleypitworks.com

Sadly the message I received is not in the slighest bit helpful.
This is the message I received ...
Paula, I have looked into this, but we are unable to duplicate. In order to get this corrected, it is imperative that we get a screen shot. You can create a test order and do it that way. Send us the details of the order, the errors you are getting etc. The more details you have along with screenshots will be helpful.
Thank you!

Given that it is my CUSTOMERS who are experiencing the problems and not me, I cannot give any screen grabs and it is simply impossible for me to do so.
Can you guys at Weebly PLEASE liaise with each other as this IS NOT an isolated incident and I surely cannot be expected to provide screen grabs as "imperative" and this can't be the only way to solve this moving forwards.
Surely if enough people are flagging this as an issue, (which clearly they are on this thread alone) then can more resources be dedicated to solving this at Weebly's end (pleeeeeease).
I genuinely don't think this is an unreasonable request.
Thank you in advance

having same issues and losing sales for over a month now. Have been on to weebly all day about this and they keep wanting me to video the process. Unable to do this however i have just turned my kapersky security off and payment went through but when i put it back on same thing happened and unable to check out. As many people also use security and have checked all ok with paypal this appears to be a serious urgent issue that needs sorting out with weebly.

still having issues months on now with paypal not working at checkout. I have had to have stripe installed but to think this is a weebly and paypal problem. this cookie banner is an issue cos no one sees it and if they dont click on it, no sales go through. it needs to be visible. Get your act together on this issue weebly.

THIS IS A MASSIVE ISSUE FOR ME TOO !!!
I have had at least SEVEN customers over the last week who have bothered to take the time to write to me and let me know there is a problem.
They report going all the way through the checkout process (Via PayPAL), and then are returned to my website with no confirmation of order and totally confused as to whether their order has gone through, or if they've been charged.
It's really damaging my reputation, not to mention lost sales and customer loyalty.
I have reported it ... but I have had ZERO response thus far.
This is a massive issue for me.
WEEBLY (Bernadette ??) - please can you sort this URGENTLY as it's a WIDESPREAD problem and the people who have written are likely just the tip of the iceberg
I had had ZERO help having written to Zendesk on June 13th request (5714339)
This is NOT a one off issue

I have just tried a real live purchase on another of my weebly sites and there is now a message saying "You will be redirected to PayPal to authorize payment, once you return you will be able to complete the order." - You then press the "commit to buy" button and the order is fulfilled.
It looks like the problem is no longer there, certainly on this website. I suspect Weebly have changed something, it may just be clearer messaging on checkout or more - who know but is seems to work. Are others OK now?
Cheers Mike

Can you please post a link to your site and do we have permission to add a product so that we can test this out? Thanks @Rubyroo!

We are having the same problem. Trouble is we don't know how many orders it has affected. 3 different customers have bothered to contact us this week by email to say there is a problem and they keep going round in a loop with PayPal before giving up. No idea how many more customers who just gave up and didn't contact us. We are getting some orders through, so it's not affecting every single order, but our orders have dropped and this is afffecting our finances.
PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM

We have had to turn Paypal off so we do not lose any more customers, Our only other option is the extortionate fees of Square. Well done webly for making a platform that does not intergrate with anything. Its the reson we are having our own website built.
Paypal say they have never heard of this issue, weebly say they cannot duplicate the issue.... GREAT!
The problem is still very much here and real but with no acknowledgement from paypal or weebly, we are left losing customers.

Same problem here and just getting the run around. I am now looking into transferring my weebly sites at a great cost to do so as I have had one of them for over 8 years, but time to move on , losing too much money and reputation while they try to avoid the issue.

Hi @trshk I'm very sorry for the frustration. It looks like the issue has to do with the cookie banner and whether or not a person accepts cookies to be tracked. Since the user is redirected to Paypal (and back to Weebly) any user who does not accept cookies will not have information (items in cart, address, etc) saved. I talked to a user earlier who updated her cookie banner with text to alert the user to accept cookies if they were going to place an order. I also suggested she use the announcement bar in the Promote section of the dashboard.

After two years...now I am having the same issue. Did anyone figure out what went wrong with the PayPal checkout or did you switch to another method...like square? It is clearly not a cookie issue.

Hi @ezlugwrench If you are having an issue with Paypal I think it is unrelated to the other users on this thread. If I recall, most of these sellers are located in the EU where cookie consent is required to store data.
I don't see a site in your account that is on a plan that allows Paypal. Do you have a different account, or can you confirm the site name?

No Bernadette,
This problem is not related to a specific customer.
This is a issue that weebly is having (and not a new one).
posts about paypal issues related to the cart erasing itself at checkout are dating from 2016 on this community.
Do you guys have any fix ?
