Tax not getting calculated

Yet ANOTHER 'quirk' of the Weebly system (which we're paying for) ...

Tax codes/items aren't getting transferred to customer receipts or totals in the checkout process.

Wowee. Can we get an update on this? I'm about to throw the towel in on even attempting a successful store with Weebly, but it's also affecting our thoughts about Square too.

Which product did you test? Do you mean you do not see the tax itemized on the checkout screen?

It is the only item in my shop

https://water-wise-services-ltd.square.site

It should be apply 20% tax to it and no matter what options I pick it doesn't add any tax.  I have even tried syncing through from my square account and the tax still doesn't work on your site.  I have tried auto tax and the manual set up and still nothing.

I couldn't seem to replicate that, @WaterWise. After entering in a UK address in check out and clicking next, it updated to show tax being applied.

hello! I'm having a similar issue. Is there a sales tax for Texas? All my Oklahoma sales are adding tax, however, Texas is not.

Hi @g_altruist It looks like you are using the automatic tax calculator. Tax rules are state-based and not every state follows the same rules. I would followup with a tax expert, but it sounds like taxes are applied for Texas orders if you have a physical presence there.

Same problem on our site too. What's up. This has been going on since September.

Hi @ArtWorksRVA Sorry to hear you are having a problem. Are you saying the taxes were calculating properly before September? Have you tried reaching out to support for assistance? Can you please confirm the site name, the location you are testing, and the tax rate it should be? Thanks!

This is actually pretty ridiculous ... it's a legal requirement of charging taxes that you show the amount of tax (GST in our speciifc case) ON the customer receipt.  Just showing "GST where applicable" is not sufficient.

The fact this isn't happening pretty much renders the Weebly platform useless (and not to code) for Australian trading.

Any update on when this can be resolved? @Bernadette

Hi @bunya We have a team that created the included GST in compliance with AU law. I can definitely bring this up with our Voice of the Customer team for you, though! Still trying to get an update on the checkout page. I haven't forgot about you! Smiley Happy
