Shipping small items by weight.

Does anyone else here sell smaller items and use the shipping weights? I've got mine listed in pounds but really the nubers are ounces. Worked great for awhile but now shippo has an issue so I can't ship items internationaly by weight. Back to USPS.com and manual labels. Wish Weebly would incorporate a weight setting in ounces rather than just pounds. Anyone else dealing with this issue?

I'm still new at the e-commerce end of Weebly but this is what I do.

I use an ounce to pound converter for my shipping. For example 1 oz = 0.0625 and this is what I will put in for the weight of that item. For me it is working just fine.

I was told by one of the Weebly specialists I was working with that their system doesn't understand two digits past the decimal which has made it very difficult for me.

Right now, what you're doing and what artbysunfire suggested are about the only options but stay tuned because our e-Commerce team is working on some big improvements to our shipping options!

I ship multiple items that weigh about 2-6 grams each; my shipping costs go up every 500 grams. So far, it seems Weebly does not register under 100 grams?

Also, the fact that the SKU numbers don't show up on the order forms makes it very difficult for staff members to process orders.

I've asked Weebly about these issues before (about a year ago) but it doesn't seem to be a priority even though there are several people with the same issues, especially the SKU issue?

Do the future big improvements include the above??

Forever hopeful...

Did you ever get a reply to this issue?  It is still an ongoing problem as far as I am concerned.  Cheers.

It's been 2 years and we're still waiting for those 'big changes'... Etsy has had better shipping options since I joined there in 2011.

Still waiting (weighting....), holding my breath for option to list product weight in OUNCES.  OUNCES is how the USPS calculates weight, why can't we have this option to allow better integration and SAVE my time.  This is a real nusance.  Please address this.

Hi @propblur Shippo should be able to automatically convert the weight. Can you give me an example item you are having difficulties with?

I sell individual buttons so I know exactly what you mean!  Where it asks for the weight I enter 0.01 through 0.09 for one through 9 ounces; 0.10 - 0.15 for 10 to 15.  It seems to work and I don't need a conversion.  😃

Thank you guys for your input. When I set up my shipping I tried using decimals but the site wouldn't take the information.

Also if you are using shippo for your postage, it won't know what those numbers mean. Still works for domestic shipping as weights can be edited on the shippo app, but international still won't cooperate as it has to be done over on the shippo site, because you can't change the weights, foe some reason.

@HI50 I actually do use shippo and it works fine for me.  When you get into Shippo, you have to change the weight to pounds, then it recognizes the decimals.  I don't ship internationally, so I don't have a problem in that area.

Well, bully for you.  BUT SOME OF US DO, and it is a BIG hassle to have to change these when you get to SHIPPO EVERY TIME.  I think we all have been VERY patient.  Why do we need to do workarounds for all these little things?  IT IS A PAIN.
