Shipping Rate by Product

Has anyone had the need to add a flat shipping rate per product?  I have a storefront that offers packs, and it would be nice to add a flat rate per pack instead of by weight or cost.  That way, if a custoemr orders several of the smaller packs, it doesn't get the rates of the larger packs.  Is that something that could be added so we don't have a higher cost entered into the product with a note stating that it includes freight?  That higher cost might turn the customer away before they read into it.

Hi @glocnikar. You could try adding the flat rate price as a product option or moifyer. Can you post a link to your site and a sample product so I can get an idea of your shipping scenario? Thanks!

I am not seeing a product option, just an item flat rate without the ability to associate it to a specific item.  On the storefront, we have the option to buy the product individually, in a 5 pack for a reduced feight charge or a 10 pack with free shipping.  We don't neccessarily want to ship 2 pieces at the same rate as ordering just one, and we don't want the ability to order two of the 5 packs to get free shipping.  Does that make sense?  https://ntfseal.com (still under development).

Is this what you have setup for your flat rate shipping?

I think I have an idea of how to do this, but it would be easier to show you if I set it up in one of my test accounts. Quick clarification, why would the shipping be different if they ordered a 10 pack, or two 5 packs? If I am understanding you, you do want to give free shipping if they order a 10-pack, but do not want to give free shipping if they order two 5 packs for a total of 10 pieces?

That is correct.  I used the cost range, but the products can overlap.  The product packs are packaged differently.

Gotcha. I figured it was something like that. I'll see what I can come up with. Smiley Happy
