Item not for sale option

I would like to know if there is a way on a product page to "not available" but not take it off the page?  I would like to keep it visible on the page but not available for purchase.  Is there a way to do this?   eyeofthegecko.com   Thank you

Hi @eotg

The only way you would be able to do this is to track inventory, which would require an upgrade. If you mark the item as "unavailable" it will not show up in your store at all. If you mark as "hidden" it will only be accessible by a direct link. If you mark as "available" it will show up in your product/category list. You could set the price as really, really high to deter someone from trying to purchase? Is there a reason why you want to have the item show up but make it unavailable for purchase at the moment?

@Bernadette yeah, I tried the unavailable setting and noticed it disappeared so I changed it back.  The reason I don't want to just remove or hide the photos are because I am showing all of my items that I am holding back until I see more of how they progress before offering it.  I tried a gallery page but the only way I saw to show information on each item was a hover over and I don't care for that, I really need the additional thumbnails to show progress.  I will just raise the prices on the unavailable items for now and if someone is ready to spend WAY too much, they can have it I guess lol.

I am not prepared to upgrade at this point as I have only had this website for a week and want to make sure it even works for me.

Thanks for your help.

I keep seeing references to marking things "available" on various help pages, but I have nothing anywhere as an option that shows even the word "available". There is an option to mark "unavailable" but no option to mark "available". I assume this means my things already are.... except EVERYTHING on my site says "not available". Do NOT understand what's going on.
