Is there a way to limit the quantity per order?

I would like to limit the purchase of my item to 3 per order. Is there a way to do this? I have 200 to sell, but want to limit the purchases

Hello @Padedo!

There's not a way to limit the quantity that can be added to a customer's cart.  What I suggest is that you place a note on your site requesting that your customers limit their orders to 3, and if you happen to receive orders for more than that, you can issue a partial refund for any ordered beyond the limit and then only ship 3 to them.

Best of luck to you and happy Weeblying!

This feature has been suggested multiple times.  Once it's status was changed to "We're considering it."

Is it still being considered?

This is especially important for me, since Weebly doesn't allow automatic discounting based upon quanitity (e.g. Buy 10, get 10% off. Buy 20, get 20% off.)  So I have to list my products in specific quantities (Package of 10) in order to offer them that discount.  If I could limit the product quantity, then I could tell them that if they wanted more, they could order the (Package of x) product...but I can't.

Yes, this is still in consideration although I don't know what movement has happened with that.  Hopefully we'll have more an update soon on it, @dbpotts!

This would be very useful, and seems almost basic. Please push on this! Thanks!

What I have learned during my brief time with Weebly, is that don't EVER count on a new feature being implemented, no matter how basic the feature. As soon as we can find a fitting alternative that works with multiple SKUs, we're moving. Even if that means moving from Square, too.

So incredibly frustrated by Weebly's lack of improvements, after seeing years and years of the same customer suggestions.

I agree! This is just one of many frustrating limitations.

THIS NEEDS TO BE AN OPTION. I HAVE UNIQUE ONE OF A KIND ITEMS FOR SALE.
USERS CANNOT BUY 7 OF THEM! A little more control over the store here would be great

because everyone wants to spend their time issuing refunds and wading through that accounting nightmare when product quantities could have just be limited to 1 in the first place lolololol Not good enough! Add this feature tomorow please. I bet the line of code it would take to add it to the Weebly platform would take about 10-20 minutes. Why not hold a contest and the winner at Weebly who can code this important basic feature into the site I will give them a pair of Bose speakers, free shipping.👍👍👍👍👍

Limit 1 Per Customer was requested back in 2016. It is now 2021. You decided to just make your customers work around this obvious problem, huh, weebly?

One thing that helped me is to remove the Quanity code from the product template. Not exactly helpful if you have 3 or 20 of something.. but helpful if you only have one unique item for sale, as is my case.

I removed

<div id="wsite-com-product-inventory">
{{> commerce/product/quantity}}
{{> commerce/product/inventory}}
</div>

I am so bored of this .... so many people have asked for this to be implemented.

Case in point ... yesterday I listed 12 boxes of a seasonal fresh produce item.  There was a rush and they all sold in 2 minutes but people had them in their shopping carts and 'lost them' as someone else checked out sooner.  People crammed 3 boxes, 2 boxes in etc and in the scrum the shopping cart couldn't cope and miscalcuated and 14 boxes got sold. Now I only listed 12 boxes - and I checked this.  So I can only assume that the sales went through so fast that some were in progress whilst others were being made and the stock didn't update fast enough.

I am now left with an over-sold product and it looks mightly unprofessional to have to go back to the customer and say "sorry something got miscalculated".   this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME.  My product is waited for by my regular customers ..... and then someone else buys a wodge leaving the others with nothing and another months wait.

My regulars are now getting annoyed that I can't stop people hogging the boxes.  and yes I have tried a polite "one per customer" notice.  It doesn't work.

WHEN IS THIS GOING TO CHANGE??????
