How do I fix the "This store is not yet accepting payments." error message?

"This store is not yet accepting payments.
Please check back later."

This message popups every time I tried testing on my site and clicked the "Add to Cart" button. I cannot reach the checkout page or the cart page. Anyway to fix this? No transactions can be done. I've contacted support and they told me to disconnect, reconnect Stripe and publish the site but this hasn't worked.

There are usually a few different reasons why you might see that message:

  • Your site is showing as insecure. To fix that, do one of the following:
    • In the classic Weebly editor, go to the Settings tab of the website editor and toggle on the SSL option. If you see a popup about the IP address then you'll need to update the IP address your domain points to.
    • In the Square Online editor, go to Settings > General Settings on the dashboard and use the un-publish option on the bottom, then open your site in the website editor and publish your site again.
  • You haven't connected to a checkout provider yet. Go to Settings > Checkout from the dashboard and connect to a payment provider.
  • Your site isn't upgraded to a plan that supports selling the number of items you have. Click on an upgrade link in your account to see a comparison of plans and prices.

When I visit your site I don't get a HTTP 500 error code message, @GreenSuperClean, and I was able to get all the way to the checkout screen where you can enter payment and shipping info, etc. Are you still seeing that?

I'm having the same problem and people are trying to buy stuff off of it but they can't. I checked in with stripe and they said everything was fine on their end so it has to do with weebly/square.

What site are you having trouble with, @banana? If I'm looking at the right site then you are seeing that message because your site isn't upgraded to a paid plan that supports selling products.

A paid plan is a site upgrade like Personal, Professional, Performance, or Premium. If you were to use the other site in your account for your online store then you could sell without needing to upgrade to a paid plan. The other site is your Square Online Store site which was made by clicking the Online Store link in your Square Dashboard.

HI @jwsparks001 It looks like there might be an isssue with your dns settings. Where is your domain registered? I see an IP address properly pointed to the www subdomain, but you do not have an a-record setup to point to the IP address for the bare domain. Are you able to edit the settings?

Thanks for your post, @efeather. It doesn't look like you are upgraded to a plan that supports selling online. If you upgrade to a plan that will support the number of items you want to sell then it should work.

Hi Adam, I am having this same issue. I have done some trouble shooting but I cannot see where I am going wrong?

I am a paid (upgrade) member and everything is linked ( I get the green connected message with square). Is there any work around?
