image sizes under items

I have a question about image sizing under "items" For example, I have created an item I offer variations for. So I created images with the named variation on the image, and uploaded under the original item. BUT my images are getting cropped so the text is not showing. Thus I am assuming I need to change the image size. BUT what is the image size I need?? I can't find that information. 

Here is a screen shot of the item I am asking about. I will have more like this and want to know the solution before I go further.

How did you stop it from cropping your images?

I'm only seeing the middle of my images displayed, cropping top and bottom.

Open your online store in the website editor, then click the pages dropdown and choose an item page (any item will work). Click on the image on the page, then click the Image gallery option. You can change the image ration and more there. Note that this will apply to all item pages.

You are using our older editor. You can still add a gallery, though, by clicking Build in the editor and drag/dropping the Gallery element onto your page.
