Link Broken in SEO articles

Hi,

New to this website building malarky, so I've been reading the various articles to help me familiarise.  currently picking my way through the SEO article and one of the sub-articles referred out to, entitled "use more than one domain with a single site" ( https://www.weebly.com/app/help/incoming?from=https%3A%2F%2Fhc.weebly.com%2Fhc%2Fen-us%2Farticles%2F... ) come up with an error message "whoops, looks like something went wrong".

is it possible to fix this article/link, please?

thanks,

Peter

Hi @expertsafety Is this a link from the Ultimate SEO guide or just something you found in the help center? Can you take a screen shot so I can try to find it for you? Thanks!

Hi Bernadette,

I hve attached screenshots showing the SEO article I was reading along with its web address (followed the link called "using more than one web address with a single site), and another screenshot showing where the link goes to and its error message.  I imagine you can figure the specific pages from the screenshots.

Thanks,

Thanks for the screenshot, @expersafety. I'll follow up on the article on our end, in the meantime though, do you have more than one domain you want to use with your site? I can tell you how to do that.

Hi Adam,

Thanks for following up.  Yes, I have a .com and a .co.uk domain that need to both point to the same website.  any help would be appreciated.

thanks,

Peter

Are both domains registered somewhere else? You'll basically do two things:

1. Pick one domain to use as your site address and point it to us so you publish your site with it: https://www.weebly.com/app/help/topics/how-to-use-a-domain-you-purchased-elsewhere

2. Contact your registrar for the second domain, and ask them to forward that domain to the one you are using with the site.

Hi Adam,

I believe I set both the .com and .co.uk domains up the same to point to the weebly site i have built.  the .com seems fine, but the .co.uk has "error 404 page not found".

here is a screenshot of the custom resource records for the .co.uk domain;

does this look right?

any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter. Since you only have one site you will need to setup a domain forward for the .co.uk domain name. This will be set up on your domain manager's end and you will not point to Weebly's ip address. They should have an option for "forwarding" or "domain/url forward".
