Google Console: Unable to fetch sitemap/sitemap could not be read

Hi,

I'm unable to submit my sitemap to Google Console. I get the notification "Unable to fetch sitemap/sitemap could not be read". Also, when I type in the site URL it says that "no information is available for this page". Lastly, when performing an URL inspection, landidng pages cannot be detected. 

Can you please assist? My website is www.AirportHistory.org.

Perhaps neccesary to mention that my site is unhidden from search engines.

@Bernadette, nice to hear from you again. I've tried:

- https://airporthistory.org/sitemap.xml  
- https://www.airporthistory.org/sitemap.xml 
- http://www.airporthistory.org/sitemap.xml

Nothing worked.

In addition a Google Console URL inspection on landing pages gave the following notification: "blocked by robots.txt"

Update: all of our share counts have been reset to zero on all pages! 😞 Were you guys tinkering??

Hi Max!  

Not that I'm aware of, but can you post a screenshot of what you see on Google Console end? There are some things automatically blocked, but it shouldn't prevent you from submitting a sitemap.

google console has been up graded    go to the new version....since about 6 months.....

Your sitemap looks fine to me, @Provision. What URL are you providing to Google as the location of your sitemap?
