I want to add a list of links to the side of my front page

How do I add a list of my favorite links to the side of my front page? I want to be able to add to the list of links, etc.

@Theoted:  Well you have two choices.  Pick a theme/page type that has left or right sidebar  or createtwo separate text areas (you can adjust the width of the text boxes)  In one area put your links and in other areas put your text.
