Solved: Please fix Link creation

So I had trouble with creating links since the interface was updated.

The reply that things are not broken and that it's just the new interface is ridiculous. You say yourself that it doesn't properly register the links (suggested workaround: click in the white area under the link form!!!). This is a bug, not how the interface is supposed to be.

Please fix this and make linking as easy again as it used to be.

We absolutely agree! This is an issue that our developers are working on. The workaround was provided simply to allow everyone to still be able to create links.
We do hear you and understand how frustrating this is. Hopefully, it will be corrected soon and this can be a thing of the past.

LilD, there is no estimated time or announcements forthcoming about the interface being revised for creating a link. Hopefully the instructions in this thread will allow you to accomplish the task in the meantime.
