Numeric Sequential receipts

Is there a way to have our receipt numbers to be in sequential numerical order instead of random alphabetical number? It’s a very big problem for our business as we need to change this asap for accounting & tax purposes! Any help would be much appreciated!

If you are using Square Point Of Sale, you can visit More -> Settings -> Checkout -> Order Tickets. Once there you can set it up to automatically get Ticket Numbers or enable the ability to manually enter them number of your order.

Is this possible for Square online as well. Last time we tested it (Dec 2023) it just gave orders using randomly generated numbers, which is ridiculous. Ive used Big Commerce, Shopify, Vend, WIX, Etsy, Big Cartel, and a couple of others in the past 20 years, and this is the ONLY system that doesn't put order numbers in numeric order. Big Commerce even lets you choose the beginning number when you set up their platform.
