Why doesn't the POS system see my chip card reader?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Can't setup system

I am trying to set up my POS.  Everything is plugged in and charged, but the system doesn't see my chip reader and will not let me go further, so I cannot accept any credit cards at all.  I did not get a phone swiper.  Help please.  I open in 49 hrs!!
