Why does stock options in our Square in-store POS no longer work with our online store?

On Saturday we got numerous calls from customers saying that a lot of our items on our website were sold out. However, on our cafe POS it did not state that it was sold out. The only way I could find to fix this immediately was to turn off stock in preferences on our online stores. This is frustrating as it seems the only way to adjust the inventory online now is through a laptop.
