Why are my discounts not working on my Payment Link?

Hello! I created an Item to sell on my website (not a storefront) via a Buy Button. The Buy Button works perfectly, but when I created a discount every trial use of it receives a "does not match a valid coupon code" error message. This occurs no matter what settings I change on my square dashboard. Do discounts not function for Buy Button items if they are not part of a Square Online Store or another dedicated storefront? Or is there a workaround that I'm missing? Thanks!

Hey there @Tuesday! Happy to have you here in the Seller Community 👋

If you are using Payment Links, you'll need to use coupons instead of discounts. I know this may sound a bit confusing, but Discounts only work on Square Point of Sale Applications. 

To set up a valid Coupon for your Payment Link, you will want to visit the Coupon section of Square Marketing. This can be found by visiting the Square Dashboard > Customers > Marketing > Coupons. Once there, you'll create the coupon to discount your payment link.
