I recently signed up for square text messaging. When my customers text join nothing happens. They do not receive an optin confirmation.

Hi @Brookiebox- I checked in with our Marketing Team about this and it looks like there were some issues with the opt-in yesterday. Looks like it's since been resolved. If any of your customers didn't receive a sign up confirmation, they'll want to retry by texting "JOIN" again. But it should be on the up and up now!
