I am helping a friend setup a new DNS domain (asaur.com) for his Weebly website.
Previously the site was available at http://asaur.weebly.com/, only HTTP, trying HTTPS would redirect back to HTTP.
The automated DNS setup would try to create these records:
@ IN A 199.34.228.65
www IN CNAME @
But the automated DNS setup was leading me to login to the wrong DNS provider, so I could not use it.
Then I have associated the domain asaur.com following the manual DNS setup instructions. And these records were defined:
@ IN A 199.34.228.164
www IN A 199.34.228.164
Now I see a message in the domain management page saying the domain was successfully associated.
But I can't connect the domain to the website.
Now the following happens:
http://asaur.com/ responds with an HTTP 301 redirect to http://www.asaur.com/
http://www.asaur.com/ responds with 404
The SSL certificate in use is a self signed certificate with:
subject=OU = "No SNI provided; please fix your client."
CN = invalid-sni.invalid
If this bad SSL certificate is accepted by the client, then:
https://asaur.com/ responds with an HTTP 301 redirect to https://www.asaur.com/
https://www.asaur.com/ responds with 404
What am I doing wrong?
Are the DNS record correct?

Thank you @MayaP .
Support helped me understand what was missing in my setup.
The website did not have SSL enabled in the Settings.
Once I tried to enable SSL in the website Settings, I was presented with a new IP address to setup in DNS.
After setting up the new IP address in DNS and waiting for the TTL of the records to pass, I was able to activate SSL for the website.
Then the domain state changed to "connected" and the website is back online.
