Star ethernet printer disconnecting

Hi All

I have star tsp100 ethernet printer that disconnecting from my network almost every day.

i see printer on square but when i print receipt either it takes around 30 second to print or not print anything.

i have changed my router and assigned a static ip to ipad and printer but still getting same issue.

does anybody have same problem?

Are you using the router/modem from your ISP?  That has been seen to be a problem for a number of folks.  We ended up buying a professional quality router and setting up a subnet for our square system.

Check to make sure it shows up in the square printer settings.  If it does, or sometimes does and sometimes doesn't, check to make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed.  You can check this by turning off your printer, waiting 5 seconds, hold down the feed button while turning on the printer.  Do not let go of the feed button until it prints a diagnostics page.  It will print 2 pages.  The first oage with show the version number.  It should be 2.2.

 

If it is an older version, you can upgrade the firmware using the Star Micronics iphone and ipad app:

Hello 

I have star tsp143 ethernet printer that disconnecting from my ipad several times per day.

I see printer on square but when i print receipt either it takes around 30 second to print or not print anything.

Sometimes it is connected sometimes it is not.  I have to power down the printer, wait then turn the power back on for it to reconnect.  This is a big problem when we are checking people out for payments.  Any suggestions?
