Square referral link won't work

Hello,

I recently bought a square chip reader for my event, and signed up through my friend's referral link. I've went ahead and tried processing 1 dollar, however my friend still doesn't see me on her referral page. I would like to have the $1,000 fee reimbursement reward by my event, so I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong as I'd like to solve this quickly. Has anybody else had this issue and found a solution?
