I was excited to receive a new Square Register today. Unfortunately, in both the docked and free-standing positions the Customer Facing Display simply reads "Update Needed". At the top of the Main Screen it says "Display Error" as well. This kind of stuff should work out of the box. What is the solution?

Hi there, @thecampstore. So sorry for the trouble here. As with most mobile electronic devices, we push out periodic software updates to ensure our devices remain high-functioning. As you may imagine, these updates cannot process on dormant hardware packed in a box.
Would you mind walking through these Register Software Update troubleshooting steps? They should be able to get your Register where it needs to be.
