Resend missing on e-gift cards
I did a resend within the last couple of weeks on a different gift card but I can't see how to do a resend on egift cards today.
Does anybody know what happened to that ability? I've tried it on the computer dashboard, on the square app on my phone, and on the POS.
This has always been something that's available For those instances where someone might put a typo in the email address for the recipient and we need to update it to get it to the recipient. But now I'm not able to.
What happened to the button for resend?

I just looked and I don't see it anymore either- this is very strange. I've definitely had instances where I've had to resend it and where I've had to change the email as people made a mistake, etc.

@AdamB any idea what happened to that functionality and if it's coming back so that we have it for the future?

@BofBArtStudio - an engineer has said the resend gift card function is working and was not removed....could you take a video trying to resend a gift card from start to finish? Another issue is that you could be trying to send a gift card to an email that is not valid.

Can you please give us the flow for how resend giftcard is done? Because there is no button or link to resend.

Are you trying to resend a giftcard that hasn't met the delivery date yet? Resending is also only available after the date it is to be delivered. I will post the workflow below!
- Sign in to the Square Dashboard
- Click Payments > Gift Cards
- Search for the eGift card sale by:
- Entering the gift card number
- Selecting a timeframe from the date range selector
- Select the transaction and click Resend
- Enter the recipient's email address or phone number and click Resend

The delivery date was Christmas Day. And on Christmas Day I was getting messages that the emails had not been received
I actually had to void and clear that gift card and send them a new one with 100% discount on it and then they received it. There was no way to resend.
Thank you for providing the step-by-step for how to resend e-gift cards.
This is what we are doing and have done many many times before over the last 10 years. I will send a video today a little bit later on to show you what's happening on my screen all of a sudden where the resend button used to be and is no longer there.
We've already performed multiple resends this holiday season and yet now it is no longer available as of Christmas Day.
Again I'll send a video of the behavior a little bit later so that you can see it.

When an e-gift card is scheduled to be delivered on a certain date, what time of day on that date does it deliver?
I was thinking about what you said that maybe the gift card didn't have the resend button because the sceduled date was in the future. These particular gift cards were scheduled to be sent on Christmas Day. On Christmas morning around 9:00 a.m. Arizona time, I received calls from a couple different customers that their gift cards hadn't been received by the intended recipient and that they were scheduled to be received on Christmas Day.
When I looked into the particular cards in question, there was no ability to have a resend button in order to view what email the gift card was supposed to go to.
That was when I posted this message.
Then, in order to get the gift card to the recipient, The only thing I could think to do was to clear the balance on the original gift card, and then initiate a new electronic gift card to send immediately to the recipient and ring it up with 100% discount and then they immediately told me that it was received and that all was good.
After reviewing what you said about future scheduled e-gift cards, I am now thinking that perhaps 9:00 a.m. was prior to intended scheduled time.
If that is the case, what time do scheduled egift cards send out on the date that they are scheduled for?

Also, I thought we used to be able to resend it from the square point of sale and the square app.
Is that not the case?
