When I cancel an order and refund the customer, Square now keeps the processing fee. Is that fee deducted from the customer’s refund, or does the seller end up paying those fees?
For example, if the customer’s order was $80, are they refunded the full $80 or $80 minus the processing fee?

Hi @PrimBot. As is the case with all companies like Square (Toast, Clover, etc), sellers always end up paying those fees. Customers always get the full amount of the refund.
The only way that sellers could fix that would be for us to deduct the processing fee before initiating the refund. However, before doing that if would be wise to check with your accountant to be sure you aren’t violating the law in your state. I’m certain that your receipts would have to state that in your “return policy” section, but some states might not allow you to do that at all.
Best,
