Quickbooks Online Sync with Square App Errors

I have been using the app "Sync with Square" offered in the app menu of Quickbooks Online. It has been syncing all my transactions daily without issues until two days ago when it started giving me  the following error message:

There were failed Settlements

A business validation error has occurred while processing your request Business Validation Error: Transaction cannot be applied to Deposit. Either Referenced Transaction's Account is incorrect or the Transaction has already been applied to another Deposit

I did a partial refund on 6/28 for a transaction that was originally from 6/27 and it seems that that's when this issue started. The error message has been showing up on my log everyday since then. The refund transaction did not transfer to QBO register, so I manually entered the transaction but this error keeps showing up daily. 

At the bottom of the error message above, it says that if after trying the "retry" option the error still is not fixed to contact the developer of the app. I contacted QBO Support because that is the number given when you click on the support button on the app, but they told me that this is an error coming from Square and that Square is the developer and to try to contact them to resolve this issue.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix this or know who to contact to get some guidance?

Hello @KONEAL, I'm sorry for the frustration this has caused! I see you were also able to start a case with our team over email too. 

 

If Quickbooks support still hasn't been able to help you resolve of this issue (they should!) can you go ahead and reply to the email from our team with the case number Quickbooks provides you? Our team should be able to escalate it from there.

I am getting the same error message as the woman who posted here:

Square and Quickbooks have both told me the other should be able to help me.  Quickbooks has now hung up on me twice.  I just need help from someone resolving this issue please!

@leilabakery I'm sorry you haven't had a good experience. Quickbooks is the one who supports the integration so you'd need to speak with them first.

Thank you for posting in the Seller Community.


With Square and any third party integration, all activation and set-up is handled by the API on their side. Whenever Square integrates with a third party website or platform, Square will only see the payment information being processed from the card that was used during the transaction. We do not have any visibility into the actual back-end mechanics of linking the website to our payment system.

I highly recommend contacting QuickBooks. If they are still unable to figure out a solution, please ask for a ticket or case number to pass over to our Customer Success Team and contact them via email with the information collected.
