Not able to enter amount to charge

 I was using the square successfully yesterday until it stopped allowing me to enter the amount of charge. There was no problem with the reader device – accepted the credit cards, I just couldn't  Access the number keys to enter the price to be charged. I turned off the phone and exited the device – to no avail
