Need help with setting shipping boxes/profile

Hello,

I am trying to figure out the best way to provide fair and appropriate shipping costs to my patrons. I will be utilizing USPS flat rate boxes, sizes Small and Medium.

The small box is approximately the size of 3 stacked dvd cases. The medium is much more accommodating. The issue I am running into is this:

Let's say item A will fit into the small box. Up to 4 total of item A will fit into the small box. But item B will not, and will require the dimensions of the medium box. If a patron purchases one of each (both A and B), will the system automatically recognize that the order will require the medium box, and only charge that shipping rate? (Assuming I have the boxes assigned to specific items)

Hey @misswitchcrafts!

The solution that springs to mind here is item weights. Yes it may not be entirely fool proof, however if you set it so that anything over X kg goes into a larger parcel you save yourself from falling short of cash on shipping. The other option would be to make shipping a single flat rate and cut into your profits on larger orders which would mean less of an indent in your profits due to being able to only have to do this on larger orders.

Hopefully someone from the Square team can get back on this as well to share an easier way of doing this.

If this did help, please do mark it as best answer to help others in the future!
