Marketing E-Mail Collection

Does the marketing e-mail collection (where a customer at home on their computer visits our website & enters to subscribe to our newsletter) check the validity of the e-mail address typed? I'm having a bunch of e-mails come in invalid (ex. "gail.com" instead of gmail.com). Thanks in advance for the answer!

Happy to provide some more information on our Square Marketing E-mail collection process. I'm not quite sure on the answer for this one myself so I've reached out to our Engineers to see if they can confirm this for us.

Hi there again @GP82818 - I appreciate your patience while awaiting my reply on this.

 

I received confirmation from our Engineering Team regarding the verification process for email addresses through Marketing collection. They let me know that the system only checks that the email address is formatted as <something>@<something>.<something>. It will not check for correct spelling, just that the fields are filled out in this format.
