There is a bug when adding inventory to items in the dashboard. That is, at https://squareup.com/dashboard/items/library (fwiw I do also have an online square store, but this issue is not affecting the online store).
How to create the problem:
1. I have a single location (it's a mobile location)
2. I have an item available in that location, not currently tracking inventory
3. I decide I want to start tracking inventory on the item, so I edit the item, turn on inventory tracking, select "inventory recount", add the inventory number, verify that the item is "Available at 1 of 1 locations" and save.
4. In the item list the item now shows the correct inventory number, but in red, and if I reopen the "manage stock" window it says "Sold out at all locations". It also shows as sold out in the Square Register app on my phone.
Same problem occurred for every item I added inventory to.
I finally figured out I can "fix" the issue like so:
1. Re-edit the item, remove it from the location, save
2. Re-edit the item, add it back to the location, save
Hi, I found another work around if anyone is experiencing this same issue. By clicking on "location" while editing each item, save with current location & "all future locations" selected & all inventory should be available to sell.
