Is the strip reader not compatible with Samsung Galaxy 8.

Samsung Galaxy 8 or 8+ does not seem to work with the mag stripe reader.  Is this correct?  This is a widely used phone and has been out for quite a while.

It shows that the Galaxy S8 is compatible with the Square readers.  If you are having issues make sure you have the latest software of  both the app and Android.

I just called Samsung and they said the headset jack is Audio OUT only, therefore the magstripe reader WILL NOT WORK with a Galaxy  S8.  I have the same phone and the same problem. 

Do this test, play music from your phone, then plug the reader in.  The phone thinks it's a headset, so you won't hear any music from the phone.

Square needs to update their website and support!
