Importing Item errors with formatting

Hi

I have imported 300 items from my supplier via a csv file. I have a formatting issue where  /n  is on a lot of the text in the description. Also, the images are stretched. Any ideas if this is fixable other than manually editing all 300 items?? many thanks in advance

I am not sure how to edit the Photos to not be stretched, but I may be able to help you with the /n in your descriptions.

Downloa your Items CSV or Excel file.  Use your favorite Spreesheet application.  Most in the Menu of Edit have a search or Find feature.  Search for /n and remove or delete this text.  When searching you should be able to search only in the Description column to avoid deleting /n from other columns.  When Finished save the csv file as updatedcatalog or something to not effect the original.  Verify that the /n is removed and all looks good.  If anything looks wrong, uploa the origianl file you downloaded an fix the Upatedcatalog you saved before.  Repeat as needed to get everything to your liking.     This would be faster than opening each of your 300 items in square, scrolling to the /n, eleting then saving, and then edit the next item and repeat for the remaining items.

Hello @deancooperphoto ! I want to welcome you to the Seller Community! I always enjoy seeing some new faces around here

It sounds like the /n is a line break that may have been incorrectly formatted during the CSV import. You can try cleaning up the CSV file by removing those breaks before re-importing it. @Candlestore has also provided some insight as well, so I highly recommend giving his proposal a try.

For the images, the stretching could be due to image dimensions not matching the recommended size for product listings. Ensuring that all images are the correct aspect ratio before uploading should help. Images can be up to 2560 x 2560 pixels. I recommend at least 2000 x 2000 pixels with a 1:1 aspect ratio.

This Support Article can also provide some insight into item image guidelines.

I hope this helps!
