I understand the frustration @jwv76 - and I see what you mean by the number of i's determining the compatibility being confusing and disappointing.

I wish I had a timeline I could share for when we will complete testing and mark the T20iii as compatible with Square. I can assure you, it's a top priority, as we always want Square to be compatible with the most up to date accessories that our sellers rely on to run their business most efficiently.

What happens when you try to pair the printer with your device using Square? Is there a specific error message you're receiving currently? (I'm just curious, as I've seen with certain barcode scanners that the scanner may be compatible before Square is done testing or makes a public announcement).

I can assure you that we will update this thread as soon as we hear any announcements regarding the T20iii.

Hi Everyone,

Does anybody knows if this issue has been fixed? is the Epson TM T2III compatible or not yet?

Thank you!

I am nearly certain the Square app looks at the model name of the printer and compares it to a list of printers before it prints, regardless of you using the recommended Epson UB-E03 network card in your printer. This worked for me and I hope it will for you... if you're using the network version of the printer.  Download EpsonNet Config, it will give you access to the model name field that I don't believe you can get to from the WebConfig. Change the model number from TM-T20III to TM-T20II and you should be able to discover it.

This is likely how square determines what driver/config to use. If doesn't print you may need to try another printer name using the compatibility list to see if your printer is close enough to an approved printer to actually print.

How were you able to change model name? I’ve downloaded software but it doesn’t let me change the name.

I downloaded EpsonNet Config 4.9.5 and it found the printer on the network.  I went into the Device > Config menu and I believe it called it "name".  This field was not available in the web config via the browser.

I am sorry, that is all what I recall doing and this printer is at my shoppe.  It is possible that I had the printer plugged in USB at the time, but to the best of my recollection it was via network using the EpsonNet tool

The TM-T20III USB version is compatible (if you have issues, just update the square app) . Have not tested the ethernet version

Ok, it's 2024 and this thread has been quiet for a while. Also the official Square compatibility matrix does not say anything about TM-T20III yet. I come to say that I just tested it via Ethernet from an iPad and it both is recognized by the Square PoS software and it can print.

I can also confirm the USB version of the TM-T20III works with both the Square register, and the square stand.

@isabelle , can you get them to update the compatible devices page? seems like it wasn't touched in years:
