Extremely Slow Item and Category Loading

Its is becoming extremely hard to just have a simple store, I don't even have more that 75 items and I still can't get my items to load in under 30 seconds, I thought that this would be a nice smooth process. It's gotten to the point where I've been contemplating on whether or not to even use the platform. I love the features but it's agonizingly slow, and I get errors that tell me something went wrong, try again.

I have xfinity service where I'm at, I did an internet speed test with ookla at got 100 down, and 30 up. I'm using Chrome on on an iMac with a i7 and 128GB of ram. 

I have the right stuff, I just don't understand why this is happening.
I even edit my images in Photoshop and make them smaller sizes for fast loading.

Nothing works.
I read some other folks posts and they said It slowed down for the at about 800 item minimum, my stuck at 58 items.

I'm at my wits end, I need this to be fixed.
If anyone has any input please, please, please, comment below.

I don't use a Sqaure website, so I'm not sure exactly of everything that can be one on the Admin side of it .  (If features can be turned on/off, custom scripts added or any apps available etc) . 

 

You can try to get a free Cloudflare account.  This *may* help the admin back end, loading issues, but it will ultimately help the front end user experience. 

 

If you would like steps for that just let me know, it would be as simple as creating an account, and pointing name-servers to Cloudflare. 

 

Lastly, which you may want to try first, is even to get in touch with Square Support.  I've read posts where when people have over 10k items then it will start to slow down, but you having less than 100 items and it being slow their maybe something that the support team can look into.

If you post a link to your website we can test it out on our ends to see if it loads slow like it does for you. 

 

I also agree with @Minion, though, that it may be best for the support team to take a look at your settings.

It extreme lagging is in the backend, like in my dashboard, where i set up new items to sell and their categories.
My website and store load very quickly, its when im adding stuff to my store through my dashboard that is alway having a 3-60 second delay, before loading.

Do you have a different internet connection you can temporarily use for testing? For example, if you have mobile data with a hotspot you can try connecting to see if that makes a difference.

 

Also, what browser are you using? You can find out the browser version by clicking this link. 

 

On the browser note, can you try loading the dashboard in a new, different browser in private/incognito mode?

The item and category loading issues, are they for your Online store or when you try to look at your Square Dashboard?

 

If with your Online Store, as was mentioned a link would help, how many Items do you have on a page?

My site is not with Square but mine loads ok and has about 10 to 20 items per page.  Now if your trying to have all 58 items on your Home page that might be the problem too.  Add more pages and different categories of items may help too?

 

I have a VPN on my computer at home and at my store but not for everything.  Depending if you have one set up this could also slow things down when loading.  When my Vpn has me in Europe and not the USA for example my internet speeds are High but web pages take for ever or may time out.  So I have my VPN set to connect only with in the USA and no double VPNs to keep things quicker.  

 

I use a 5G cell tower for my stores internet and have about 9000 items and I am happy with Square loading for the Dashboard on my i7 Laptop or Chromebooks all except for one area that gets a lower wifi signal.  My internet speed according to Ookla is about 50 uploads and Downloads at my store, my home wifi is faster for downloads at 350 Mbps and uploads are slower at 14 Mpbs.

 

I would see if there is an issue that Square can see on their end or maybe it could be with your Registrar if you have a Custom domain?  These all can effect the speed at which a site is found through the web.
